Former Australian captain and the man who led Deccan chargers for their IPL victory in season 2 : Adam Gilchrist is very excited to lead Kings XI Punjab. This was the team earlier led by Yuvraj Singh and Kumar Sangaakara.
“I’m very excited about the IPL IV. Last year was frustrating for Kings XI Punjab, but hopefully this year we can turn around the fortunes” - Gilchrist said.
Gilli admitted that he was disappointed with so much change in the teams. “I’m a bit of a believer of loyalty and yes, loyalty to fans as much as anything. Other than Chennai, who have been targeting to get their players back which I feel could prove a very shrewd move on their behalf” he added.
Meanwhile South African batsman David Miller has signed Kings XI Punjab as a replacement to all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas. Miller signed this contract for $100,000. The off-spinner all-rounder is expected to be joining the team today.
