Hambantota : Total dominance by Sri Lanka as Canada were never in the game even for a moment. The bowlers backed up the good performance of the batsmen with a clinical display .

 Mahela Jayawardene notched up 100 as the hosts posted 332.  Jayawardene  scored his 100 off 80 balls for his 13th one-day hundred and added an invaluable 179 for the third wicket with skipper Kumar Sangakkara. Kumar Sangakkara followed up his 92 with three catches and a stumping.

Jayawardene was out by  Davison on the very next ball he faced after breaking Sanath Jayasuriya's 85-ball record, set against Bangladesh in 2007. Dilshan was out after scoring his third World Cup half-century,

Fast bowler Henry Osinde picked up an injury and left the field after bowling just 2.1 overs.

Rizwan Cheema (37) was the top scorer from the Canada team.

Perera and Kulasekara took three wickets each with an economy rate of 3.42 and  2.66
