Bengaluru : The Aussie openers were absolutely flawless they rained runs at the chinnaswamy Stadium. They started off slowly, but once they got their eye in, they took on the Canadian spinners and dispatched the ball to every possible corner. There were a couple of half chances that didn't go Canada's way and the duo made the most their hitting abilities. There was a race on who would get to his hundred first, but Haddin fell 12 runs short and he was dismissed at the fag end of the innings. Watson wanted to get to his hundred with a six and threw away his wicket. Ponting's misery continued as he failed to middle the ball yet again. But a comfortable win this for the Aussies, which takes them to the top of the table
After winning the toss and choosing to bat while one of the opener Davison was dismissed by Lee in the fourth over itself the other opener Patel smashed an half cenutry in just 45 balls. Patel scored (54 runs from 45 balls) which consisted of three sixers and five boundaries in it. A partnership of 68 runs for the third wicket between the skipper Bagai and Surkari helped the canada team to set up an target of 212runs for the Australian team. Bagai scored (39 runs from 55 balls) while Surkari scored (34 runs from 69 balls).
Canada team batsman couldn't sustain Lee's attack, Lee took four wickets and was the top wicket taker while both Tait and Krejza took two wickets each.
The openers did the job for the Australian team. The partnership of 183 runs for the first wicket between the openers Watson and Haddin led the Canada team into trouble.
