England batted well and made it tuff for the Ireland team by setting up a huge target of 328, But Ireland gave an stunning reply. Brilliant batting performance by Kevin O'Brien helped Ireland register their victory against England at the chinnaswamy stadium.
Trott(92) who fall short of eight runs from century and Bell(81) were the top scorer from the England team. Pietersen(59) scored an half century. The three half centuries helped England to set a huge target for the Ireland.
Mooney was the top wicket taker who took four wickets of the England team. Johnston took two wickets, While Dockrell and Stirling took an wicket each.
Ireland lost two early wickets but later batted well, O'Brien and Cusack sixth wicket patnership of 162 runs helped Ireland to register their victory over the England team.
Kevin O'Brien was the top scorer, who scored (113 from 63 balls) which consisted of thirteen boundaries and six huge sixers in it. Cusack also batted well, who scored (47 from 58 balls) which consisted of three boundaries and one sixer in it.
England was dominating in the begining when the took two early wickets of the Ireland team. The score was 62 for 2 in the 10th over. But later Kevin O'Brien and Cusack took away the game from the england team. Swann took three wicket with an economy rate of 4.70, While Bresnan and Anderson managed to take an wicket each.
"It has been the greatest day of our lives, the best performance that we have put up. We believed in ourselves, Kevin O'Brien was brilliant. We knew that we are capable of winning, we believed in ourselves. Cusack and Mooney too chipped in and credit to the lads for their effort. We have still got four games left, hoping to repeat such performances and stay in the race." Porterfield said.
The match winning player Kevin O'Brien said "Not able to believe it, I am quite speechless. I got a bit of luck and things went my way. If we would have gotten out soon, it would have been a boring game for the supporters and so I decided to chance my arm, it paid off. Mooney contributed both with the bat and the ball, he deserves some credit."
"We thought we had done a reasonable job with the bat and also with the ball initially. We weren't expecting such an innings from Kevin O'Brien. Our WC dreams are not over yet, we need to set things right soon. Kevin O'Brien played really well and made the most of the powerplay. They deserve the victory, we can't do much but to lick our wounds. We have a couple of niggles, KP and Swann got injured today, hopefully they will be fit for the next game."Andrew Strauss said.
