Sachin Tendulkar was the top scorer for team India, who scored (111 runs out of 101 balls) which consisted of eight boundaries and three sixers in it. Sehwag scored (77 runs out of 66 balls) with twelve boundaries in it while Gambir scored (69 runs out of 75 balls) with seven boundaries in it.
Even though Morkel was the bowler who got the break for the porteas, it was Steyn who was the reason for five Indian batsman to return back to the pavilion. Steyn took five wickets, while Peterson took two wickets. Morkel, Kallis and Plessis took an wicket each.
Team Indian bowlers looked aggresive by dismissing the South African skipper Smith in the ninth over of their Innings. Smith was dismissed by Zaheer Khan.The 86 run patnership for the second wicket between Amla and kallis put the portease back in the game. Amla scored (61 runs out of 72 balls), while Kallis scored (69 runs out of 88 balls), AB de Villiers scored (52 runs from 39 balls). Finally it was Robin peterson who scored (18 out of 7 balls) who won the game for the South Africa team with two boundaries and a sixer in the final over.
Harbhajan singh was the top wicket taker by taking three wickets , who also got the break for the team India who were under pressure. Munaf patel got two wickets. Nehra was hit badly by the South African batsman. The final over which was bowled by Nehra was very expensive for team India. The first ball was an inside edge which crossed the ropes, while the second ball was smashed over the ropes for six by Robin peterson. Dhoni's decision of making Nehra bowl the last over was the very expensice for team India.
