Kenya’s openers Seren Waters and Maurice Ouma dismissed inside the first three overs of the match. DO Obuya(51) and CO Obuya(52) were the top scorers from the kenya team. Apart from the Obuya brothers none of the kenya batsman managed to score a double digit.
Lasith Malinga bagged ODI career-best figures of six for 38, including a hat-trick, Kulasekara, Mathews & Muralitharan took a wicket each.
Sri Lankan openers finished the game in the 19th over itself, Tharanga(67) was the top scorer who smashed twelve boundaries. Dilshan scored 44 runs out of 30 balls with eight boundaries in it. Dilshan was dismissed by Otieno in the ninth over when the score was 72, which didn't make any big difference for the Sri Lankan team as the skipper Sangakkara(24) and Tharanga registered the victory for Sri Lanka.
"It was important the way we came back after losing that close game on Saturday. We came out mentally strong and finished the game pretty well. We tried to stop as many runs as we could, and with the ball reversing Lasith did a great job. We have a big game coming up on Saturday against Australia."Sangakkara said.
"With the kind of bowling attack that SL had, we were looking to score above 230, but it did not work out that way. We were done in by their bowlers, Collins and David played really well. They should have played till the end, once they got out, we crumbled again. We knew Malinga but we hadn't faced him before, congratulations to him on a hat-trick."Kamande said.
