HIGHLIGHTS : India knocks Pakistan out of the World Cup in 2nd semi finals
Mohali : Team India repeats the history by winning the match against Pakistan in the World cup Semi finals here in Mohali. Team India opted to bat first after winning the toss as per the pitch conditions. A disciplined and terrific bowling attack from the Indian bowlers won the match for team India. The Effort of Misbah-ul-Haq went in vain as there was no supporting batsman for Misbah on the other end of the crease. Even though Pakistan lost wickets there was a lot of tension for the spectators till the final over of the match. Poor fielding from the Pakistan team helped team India in order to set up an target of 261runs for the Pakistan team. India will face Sri Lanka in Mumbai to decide who is going to bt the champions of the World Cup 2011.
Dashing opener Sehwag, who is well know to smash the ball all over the ground smashed Umar gul all over the field in the early overs. Sehwag scored (38 runs out of 25 balls) which consisted of nine boundaries in it. Sehwag was dismissed by Riaz for an leg before in the last ball of the sixth over. The 68 runs partnership for the second wicket between Sachin and Gambir helped the team after the loss of Sehwag in the early overs. Gambir scored (27 runs out of 32 balls) while the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored (85 runs out of 115 balls) which consisted of eleven boundaries in it. Raina batted well by smashing (36 runs out of 39 balls).

Akmal scored (19 runs out of 21 balls) while Hafeez batted well by scoring (43 runs out of 59 balls) which consisted of seven boundaries. Shafiq scored (30 runs out of 39 balls) after which he was bowled by Yuvraj Singh. Umar Akmal and Misbah looked dangerous for the team India.Umar scored (29 runs out of 24 balls)which consisted of one boundary and two sixers. Misbah smashed (56 runs out of 76 balls) which consisted of five boundaries and a sixer.
The disciplined bowling attack won the match for the team India. All the bowlers bowled well. Zaheer, Nehra, Munaf, Harbhajan and Yuvraj picked up two wickets each. India bowlers just gave eight runs extra. There was lot of improvement in the bowling department in team India.
