Kolkata : A comprehensive win for Zimbabwe in the end as they end their WC campaign with a win. Winning the toss, they set a mammoth total first up and then they were backed up perfectly by Mpofu and then the spinners as they took wickets in regular intervals to trigger the collapse. In the end a poor WC for the Kenyans as they failed to secure a win all through the tournament.
Earlier Zimababwe batsman lost early wickets as they lost both the openers Taylor (26 runs out of 36 balls) and Chakabava(9 runs out of 22 balls) within the first ten overs of the match. Kenya had taken the control over the match in the early overs, after which the partnership of 110runs for the third wicket between Taibu(53 runs out of 74 balls) and Sibanda(61 runs out of 57 balls) helped the Zimababwe team which was under pressure.
After the dismissal of Sibanda and Taibu the 105runs partnership for the fifth wicket between Ervine and Chigumbara helped the Zimbabwe team to set up an target of 309 for the Kenya team. Ervine was the top scorer from the Zimbabwe team who scored (66 runs out of 54 balls) which consisted of nine boundaries and a sixer.
Otieno was the top wicket taker from the Kenya team who took two wickets, while Ongondo, Odhiambo and Ngoche took a wicket each.
Zimbabwe bowlers took complete control over the Zimbabwe team batsman by taking up early wickets the score was 73 runs for the loss of six wickets in the 20th over. Odhiambo was the top scorer from the Kenyan team who scored (44 runs out of 47 balls) which consisted of five boundaries. Patel scored (24 runs out of 37 balls), while the opener Obanda scored (23 runs out of 36 balls).
Price, Lamb and Cremer picked up two wickets each while Mpofu and Utseya took a wicket each. Price and Lamb bowled well with an economy rate of 2.85 and 3.00
