In front of the huge home crowd in Mumbai, which is also the home town of the legendary batsman Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, it was India who won the World Cup finals in a match against Sri Lanka to be crowned as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 World Champions.
Sachin might have failed with the bat in this match, but the master has added another glorious feather in his extraordianry cap for which he had dreamt since his childhood.
It was Wankhande Stadium, Mumbai. Sachin was playing in front of his 33k+ home town capacity crowd and the crowd were in the edge of their seats to see the 'God of Cricket' scoring his Hundredth century. Tendulkar started off brilliantly with some spectacular boundaries but unfortunately fell prey. But Indians held their nerves and India are the World Champions after 28 years of long wait.
This was Sixth World Cup for Sachin and could be the last one as well. With so many amazing records in his bag, i guess even the World Cup has increased it's dignity after reaching the hands of the Little Master.
Indian fans earlier had to go through shocker when both Sehwag and Sachin were dismissed pretty early in the game. But, as promised the younger players came into the picture and played some good cricket and dedicated the WORLD CUP To their Role Model 'Sachin!'.
No matter which part of the world Sachin goes he certainly recieves a standing ovation!. Then one can imagine how big it's gonna be in his hometown Mumbai!
"I couldn't have asked for anything more than this. Winning the World Cup is the proudest moment of my life,Thanks to my teammates - without them, nothing would have happened. I couldn't control my tears of joy." - said Sachin.
After all these glorious Achievements.. Sachin fans have their next goals set to see the 100th century of Sachin!
Take a bow Master!
