Sri Lanka lost early wickets. Tharanga was dismissed by Zaheer in the third Over of the match. Chandimal (64 runs from 81 balls) was the top scorer from the Sri Lanka side. Dilshan scored (48 runs from 79 balls) Mathews scored 33 runs and remained unbeaten.
Ashwin was the key bowler for team India who picked up three wickets of the Sri Lanka team with an economy rate of 3.20, Zaheer picked up two wickets while Vinay Kumar and Jadeja picked up a wicket each.
Indian opener Sehwag was dismissed in the third over of the Innings bowled by Malinga. Sachin Tendulkar scored (48 runs from 63 balls). Virat Kohli(77 runs from 94 balls) was the top scorer for team India. Though team India lost four crucial wickets of Dhoni, Raina, Rohi Sharma and Kohli good partnership between Jadeja and Ashwin won the match for team India.
Mathews picked up two wickets while Malinga, Prasad and Perera picked up a wicket each for Sri Lanka.
