Cricket Ball & Stumps(International Standards)
Weight of the Ball should not be between 5 & 1/2 ounces to 5 ounces 3 quaters. It Should be nine inces & one quarter in circumference & at the beginning of the bowling attach each team may take new ball in the international Cricket. But in the Gully cricket Tennis ball can be used which has more bounce & safety & durable!!(untill it get's lost somewhere!).
A no of six Stumps must be Twenty seven inches tall & 4 bails which should be 8 inches in length with equal thickeness out of which 3 each will be placed on either side of the pitch. (If you can't get a stumps, why not try the tree nearby!!? or any Stone wicket ;))

The cricket Pitch length will be 22 yards / 2012 cms & 366 cm width & the dimensions are as shown above. It is a flat surface and has very short grass that tends to be worn away as the game progresses. The "condition" of the pitch has a significant bearing on the match and team tactics are always determined with the state of the pitch, both current and anticipated, as a deciding factor
Umpires (K.A REFREES)
Cricket onfield is controlled & judged by two umpires, one of whom stands behind the wicket at the bowler's end, the other in a position called "square leg", a position 10–12 metres to the side of the "on strike" batsman. When the bowler delivers the ball, the umpire at the wicket is between the bowler and the non-striker. The umpires are the one who decides all the decissions including a wicket / the boundaries the runs scored , & confer if there is doubt about playing conditions and can postpone the match by taking the players off the field if necessary etc & these days a TV umpire would be refferd for doubtfull decisions & he would watch the replay & would be able to take the Decissions
How to Bowl ?
The bowler Runs from a certain distance so as to maintain his speed, then he would extend his arm & jump to deliver the ball & he would keep his oppositte feet of the bowling arm & throw the ball straight without bending the hands (if the hands are bent it would be considered "Throw" & will be declared as "NOBALL" & batsmen would be awarded extra Run & a ball) & delivers the ball without crossing the crease (line) at the bowlers end (if this is violated again it would be NOBALL & this time along with the awards batsman will be granted a Free Hit which means batsman will not be given out except while Running for a Run). Batting
There will be two batsman playing on the field & both of them will be in the either sides of the pitches behind the crease. The batsman who is ready to take the delivery is known as Striker & the other as non stricker. Runs Can be scored when the ball is a Stricked (/ missied) batsman has to interchange the crease before the fielding side would throw the ball to the Stumps. On successfull interchange once the Striker Batsman would be awarded a RUN which add's to the teams tally. Batsman can Run more than one runs at one delivey also. Now after the interchange The Non stiker becomes the strike batsman & is supposed to face the ball. Batsman can strike tha ball in the gap of fielders & if the ball successfully reaches the boundary line with quite few pitches it would be called a BOUNDARY & batsman would be awarded with 4 Runs!! & if the ball reaches the boundary without any bounce 6 Runs will be awarded to the batsmen, but however if the fielders are able to catch it full toss within the boundary / if the stumps behind the batsman is knocked out when the batsman is batting / when the ball is striked to the wicket while stealing a run & the batsman couldn't reach the crease on time then it would be considered as OUT & the Batsman has to End his play & the next Batsman would comein. If 10 Out of 11 Batsman get out / the scheduled overs (a over consists of 6 balls) get over, The next side would get a chance to bat & the team scoring highest no of overs would be VICTORIOUS!!!!
Fielding
All eleven players of the bowling side should be on field when the team is bowling out of which one is supposed to be the bowler & one who would stand behind the stums (known as Wicket Keeper) of the batsman who would expect catch (by edging the bat) & stump out (striking the wicket with the ball if the batsman failes to stay inside the crease). Other 9 Players would stand across the field to protect boundaries & expecting any catches. Field Restrictions are applicable in International Cricket where in The no of fielders inside & outside the Circle would be mentioned during the stages of the match.
Extras
- No Ball : Penalty if the bowler which bowling keeps his step out of the crease which would award extra run & extra ball of free hit or if a bowler throws a full toss above the waist / pitch above the head batsman would be awrded with extra run & extra ball.
- Wide : Penalty if the Ball goes beyond batsmans reach i.e out of the specified space in the pitch.
- Byes : Extra(s) awarded if the batsman misses the ball and it goes past the wicketkeeper to give the batsmen time to run in the conventional
- Leg Byes : Extra (s) awarded if the bal touches the batsman's feet & batsman steals a Run.
Dissmissals
The Umpire would declare a batsman out when the bowler or member(s) of the fielding side appeals to umpire generally by asking "how is that?" or HOWZZAT? The Appeal would be louder & continuous if the bowling side is confident about the appeal untill umpre denies / accept it. Umpire accepts it by raising his hand & pointing the finger towards the sky / denies it by nodding head.
The Batsman Can be Given Out / Dismissed under following circumstances :
- .Bowled : while playing a delivery batsman misses / (edges / strikes) the ball, But the ball hits the stumps behind batsman & disloges Bails.
- Caught : After the batsman strickes the ball, any member from bowling side catches it full toss(without any pitch) within the boundary.
- Stumped : When a batsman misses a ball & is out of crease, wicket keeper dislodges the bails with the ball .
- Run Out : When batsmen attempt to interchange sides (take a Run) & the fielder throws the ball to the stumps & bails aredislodged before the batsman reaches the Crease. (The above two decissions these days are reffered to the Third or TV Umpire for the better confirmation)
- Leg Before wkt (LBW) : When a ball pitches in the line of the stump & touches batsman's (usually in the pads) legs & considering if the batsman was not on the line & the ball was gonna hit the stumps batsman could be given out. (It is not quiet necessary that if should touch batsman's pad, because once i saw sachin tendulkar ducking a ball of mcgrath but unfortunately it was given out though it hit the helmet but was on the line & would've hit the wicket as tendulkar had ducked)
- Hit Wicket : When that batsman dislodges the bails intentionall / unintenntionally (Obviously it will be unintentionally), which includes incidents like batsman's bat touches the wicket / batsman falls on wicket etc.
- Obstrucing Fielder : When the batsman delibrately get in the fielders way /obstruct the fielder not to take catch / field.
- Handling the Ball : When batsman (usually unintentionally) use his hands to protect his wicket.
- Time out : When the next batsman to be arrived didn't showup within 3 minutes of previous wicket dismissed.
- Hitting the ball twice : If the batsman purposely hits the ball with bat for the second time, unless he's stopping the ball hitting wicket, it is considered as OUT.
